Right from 50s, most of the brahmins living in agrahArams sent their sons and daughters for higher studies.
They searched for jobs in cities, got married and settled in cities/ abroad. When those brahmins were old and
unable to maintain their lands, they sold off their lands. They were mostly financially independent. Later on,
when NO brahmin came forward to buy their houses, they were forced to sell to other communities. Hence
the agraharams are vanishing. Sad but true! :sad:
Now, some senior resorts are cropping up in agraharam style and those who are interested in spirituality,
choose to live in those villas / row houses! :cool:
