திக்விஜயத்தின் பொருட்டு நீ படையோடு
திக்குகள் அதிரப் புறப்பட்ட பொழுதிலிருந்தே,
பிரியாது உன்னையே தொடர்ந்து வருகின்றேன்,
தெரியாமல் உனக்கே என்னுடைய இன்னரசியே!
வேதங்கள் இயம்பியபடி உன்னை நான்
வதுவை புரிவேன் உன் மதுராபுரியிலே!
அடுத்த சோமவாரத்திலே நம் திருமணம்
நடக்கும் ஒரு சுப முஹூர்தத்திலேயே!
விஞ்சும் வீராங்கனையாக திக்விஜயம் சென்று,
கொஞ்சும் குமரியாகத் திரும்பினாள் மதுராபுரி.
வழங்கினர் திருமண ஓலைகள் அரசர்களுக்கு!
முழங்கினர் திருமண முரசுகள், வாத்தியங்கள்!
எழில் கோலம் புனைந்து நின்றது அன்று
அழகிய மதுராபுரி நகரம் முழுவதுமே!
தெளித்தனர் வீதிகளில் பன்னீர், மலர்கள்!
குவித்தனர் வீதிகளில் நறுமணப் பொடிகள்!
பாவை விளக்குகள் கைகளில் தீபம் ஏந்தி,
சேவை புரிந்தன அழகிய வரிசைகளில்.
மலர்மாலைகள் குலுங்கின மணப்பந்தலில்,
மணி மலைகள் மிளிர்ந்தன மணப்பந்தலில்.
புண்ணிய நதிகளின் தண்ணிய நீரும்,
எண்ணிறந்த குடங்களில் வந்து சேர்ந்தன;
மண்ணிலுள்ளவர்கள் அனைவரும் அங்கு
கண் பெற்ற பயனைக் கண்கூடாக அடைந்தனர்.
திவ்வியமானதொரு திருமண மண்டபம்;
பவ்வியமான இரண்டு பளிங்கு யானைகள்;
பொன்னால் ஆன படிக்கட்டின் அருகிலே,
மின்னும் அழகுடன் மிளிர்ந்து நின்றன .
பளிங்குச் சுவர்களும், பவளத் தூண்களும்,
விளங்கிய மேல்நிலையில் சந்திரகாந்தம்;
நவ மணிகள் இழைத்த அழகிய பொன்னிருக்கை,
நவ மணமக்கள் அமர்ந்து மணம் புரிந்துகொள்ள.
அணிகலன்களையும், ஆடைகளையும்,
அணியத் தந்தது அற்புத கற்பகமரம்.
அறுசுவை உண்டியைக் குறைவின்றித்
தருவதற்கு இருந்தது அங்கே காமதேனு.
உவந்தவர்க்கு அவர் உவந்ததெல்லாம்
உவந்து அளித்தது சீரிய சிந்தாமணி.
விண்ணவர் உலகே நாணித் தலை குனிய
மண்ணுலக மதுராபுரி ஜொலித்தது அங்கே.
பொன்னுலகத்தினர் வந்து குவிந்தனர்;
மண்ணுலகத்தினரும் வந்து குழுமினர்;
குபேரன் கைகளாலேயே அலங்காரம்,
குவலயம் தொழும் சிவபெருமானுக்கு!
கலைமகளும், அலை மகளும் செய்தனர்
தலையாய அலங்காரம் மணமகளுக்கு!
இசைக்கருவிகள் இசைந்து ஒலிக்கவே,
இசைந்து மண்டபத்தில் அமர்ந்தனர் அவர்.
பாதபூஜை சிவனுக்கு மாலவன் கைகளால்!
வேதநாதமோ நான்முகன் வாய்மொழிகளால்!
பரந்தாமன் செய்வித்தான் பாணிக்ரஹணம்;
தாரையும் வார்த்தான் தன் தாமரைக்கையால்!
வந்தவர்க்கெல்லாம் வரிசை முறைப்படி
தந்தனர் பற்பல அரும் பரிசுப் பொருட்கள்;
சுந்தரமான ஆட்சி தொடங்கிவிட சோம
சுந்தர பாண்டியன் ஆனான் நம் சிவபிரான்.
வாழ்க வளமுடன், விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
5 (b). THE WEDDING!
I have been following you everywhere-ever since you left on digvijyam-unknown to you! I will marry you in Madhuraapuri on next Monday, as prescribed by the scriptures. Now go back and make all the wedding arrangements!. Siva spoke to Devi in this manner.
The now transformed queen was welcomed by her mother and her citizens with pomp and show. Messages were dispatched to all the kings announcing the forthcoming wedding.
Auspicious musical instruments were played. Madhuraapuri became better than Swargapuri! Rose water and fragrant flowers were sprinkled on all the streets. Sandal and other sweet smelling powders was heaped in the various places.
The paavai lamps stood in beautiful rows all over the city -giving light and presenting a pretty picture.The wedding mandapam was decorated with many flower garlands and haarams made of navarathnam.
Holy water from all the rivers were brought for abhishekham. Those who lived there on that day were blessed indeed and witnessed all the glorious things and events.
The wedding mandapam was unusual. Two marble elephants stood on either side of the steps made of gold. The walls were made of marble, the pillars were made of corals and the top portion was made of Chandra kaantham. A gold aasanaa studded with navaratna was placed for the new couple to sit on.
Karpaga vruksham gave everyone fine dresses and ornaments. Kaamadenu gave all kinds of tasty foods worthy of such a wedding. Chinthaamani gave everyone everything they wished for. Swargam was put to shame by the glory of Madhuraapui.
Kuberan-the god of wealth- decorated Lord Siva while Lakshmi Devi and Saraswathi Devi decorated the bride.
The musical instruments started playing melodiously.
Lord Vishnu performed the Paada puja for Lord Siva. Brahma chanted the Vedic manthraas.Vishnu presented Devis hand to Siva for Paani Grahanam and performed the Dhaaraa also.
The divine marriage was completed. All the guests were presented with gifts befitting their greatness.They were treated with the exquisite wedding feast.
Lord Siva now became the King Sundara Paandian and started ruling over Madhuraapuri.

நவ மணமக்கள் அமர்ந்து மணம் புரிந்துகொள்ள.
அணிகலன்களையும், ஆடைகளையும்,
அணியத் தந்தது அற்புத கற்பகமரம்.
